[XSL-LIST Mailing List Archive Home] [By Thread] [By Date] [Recent Entries] [Reply To This Message] argument for id function
>From another discussion group, the following confusion comes up
on the argument of the id function:
1. From the XSLT 1.0, XSLT grammer production 3 under section 5.2 indicates
the argument
to id function has to be a literal, i.e. a string enclosed in single or
double quotes.
2. From the XPath 1.0, section 4.1 indicates the argument can be other than
a
string.
It seems that XSLT 1.0 says that the argument to id function must be
a literal in syntax while XPath says it doesn't have to be. Which is
correct?
