You can take it that the XPath enhancements in the XQuery spec are
automatically on the list of things that will be considered for XPath 2.0.
Which doesn't mean they will necessarily make it in.

In this case at the very least there are some lexical difficulties, e.g.
spaces are needed before the hyphens.
