[XSL-LIST Mailing List Archive Home] [By Thread] [By Date] [Recent Entries] [Reply To This Message] Copying and Transforming/Recursion? - Revisited
Let me try rephrasing and earlier question from a different angle...
At the highest level, I want an author to be able to create XHTML:
<html>
<body>
name <input fieldname='name' type='text' value='' />
title <input fieldname='title' type='text' value='' />
</body>
</html>
I want to be able to apply the following XML data against it:
<submittedValues>
<submittedValue fieldname='title'>mr.</submittedValue>
</submittedValues>
So that the appropriate <submittedValue>'s text is inserted into the
corresponding <input>'s value, resulting in something like:
<html>
<body>
name <input fieldname='name' type='text' value='' />
title <input fieldname='title' type='text' value='mr.' />
</body>
</html>
Note that the format inside of the author's <html> can not be assumed ahead
of time - since it may change dynamically.
It seems to me that the author's document needs to be copied - element for
element (via recursion?) - to the output and transformed against the data
along the way. But I can't seem to get a mental handle on how to do it...
Appreciation in advance for any and all input - it's greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
