I have been working off of an example I found at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/voices/xml05292000.asp and its been work fine
untill I try to use Axes.

IE5 doesn't support XPointer. I'd be very surprised if anything in 
that chapter works with IE5. And now I've got to update it for the 
draft that was released yesterday.
