RE: xml to xml identity transforms, and reading the DTD

I did exactly the same thing when converting  TEI SGML files to TEI
XML. It is wonderfully effective, I agree! It just makes me nervous
to have different DTDs around with the same name.  I suppose it is the 
path of least resistance.
