Re: Evaluatable XPath. ( XPath extensions ).

Try

child::cfg/child::*[local-name()={$var}]

or something like that. It should work. Have a look at the rest
of the core function library. A lot is missing, but a lot of
usefull stuff is there for the taking.

Which platform are you implementing this for?
