small problem

I am new to XSL

I am getting one problem

how to include href in XSL

I was try like this
<TD >
    <xsl:attribute name="href">email:
    <xsl:value-of select="email"/>
    </xsl:attribute>:<xsl:value-of select="email"/>

</TD>

The problem is I am not able to display the link only the text is displayed

can any one help me

I tried this also it is also not working properly

<A href="mailto:{email}";><xsl:value-of select="email"/>
