first create 2 variables
<xsl:variable name="ABC">
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
</xsl:variable>
<xsl:variable name="ABC">
abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
</xsl:variable>
Then:
<xsl:if test="transform($name, $ABC, $abc) = transform('Joe', $ABC, $abc)">
....
</xsl:if>
