error with xalan/LotusXSL

I'm running a transformation successfully using:
  1) James Clark's XT
  2) SAXON

However, with XALAN and/or LotusXSL, I get the following error:
  Error! com/ibm/bsf/BSFException
  Xalan: was not successful.

Any idea why this would be (maybe I installed Xalan incorrectly ... ?)
