I found out that this was caused by a bug in Oracle's
XML Parser and it's XSL processor. The bug has been
fixed in version 2.0.2.6.

With the fix in, I tried your XSL and it worked. I
appreciate all the help.

the stylesheet I posted worked on the example you sent and picked up
your pre and post elements. What do you mean by `not work' or more
importantly perhaps which version of which xsl system are you  using?
