[XSL-LIST Mailing List Archive Home] [By Thread] [By Date] [Recent Entries] [Reply To This Message] RE: XSL-future
Hi, Linda said: More people have been asking questions about the status of the XSL-fo draft, but no answers have been given (yet)... I don't know about DSSSL vs XSL, but there must be someone on this list who can answer that. Anyone? \ I haven't heard anything about browsers that may support XSL-fo at any time in the future. Didier reply: I cannot speak for XSL Fo but surely can about DSSSL. Next week, we'll present the scope of work for DSSSL-2 which is the next DSSSL specification. One of the thinks that will be proposed is the inclusion of themplates (like the simplified XSL format), new formatting objects and improvements on the existing ones. On the other hand, the second release of OpenJade is out. A new shell wrapper is a work in progress so that instead of a command line you'll have on some platforms (we hope to be able to port this on all platforms) simple drag and drop transformation and context menu/dialogs UI. So, as XSL learned from DSSSL so is DSSSL today learning from XSLT, CSS, omnimark.
