I was able to download XSLTracer and XML Generator without any trouble at all. I
am using a Pentium II, 333 mhz and downloaded on an ISDN line.

On the IBM Alphaworks site there should be a tool called XSL Trace, which
seems to be what you are looking for. I haven't been able to contact this
site for a week now, I keep getting time-out errors. If you succeed please
let me know.
