Using XSL to transform XML into XML+formating

I have been able to find numerous examples of using XSL to
transform XML into HTML with formating.  What I have not
been able to find is examples of using XSL to transform XML
into XML with formating.  Does anyone know where I can find
examples of this?

Also, I would eventually like to use the "fo" capabilities
stated in the XSL specification for formating. Does anyone
have any examples of this?  Does IE 5b2 support this
capability?
