how to call Javascript function in .xsl file

Hi,

        I am wondering how to call a JavaScript function in .xsl file.

        For instance,
        <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JSCRIPT"><![CDATA[

                function abc(x)
                {
                        document.writeln(" ... ");
                }
        ]]>
        </SCRIPT>

        ...

        I tried
                abc(x);
                <eval>abc(x)</eval>
                "=abc(x)"
        but all failed.
