Those are very useful indeed.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

As a programmer I don't like to be treated like a toddler: I am not  
gone give you the tool that you
like/need, because you might cut yourself.

We got to trust programmer's IQ.

Scripting is clearly separated from the core, side-effect free part.  
If it's useful, use it. If it hurts, don't do it.

People will learn the patterns.
