Well, it's difficult to tell. In my experience working with clients using such systems, it can be very difficult to wean the developers off the familiar SQL side of the product. If you allow developers to continue using their old tools while also having access to new and unfamiliar tools, they will often take the path of least resistance. That (together with the sheer complexity that comes from mixing two query languages with different lexical rules, different function libraries, and different data types) is one reason why I think you are much better off using an "XML-only" database system.
