It may be that people tasked with authoring > the feeds struggled to generate well-formed XML I think most people wrestling with XML use something like the Universal Feed Parser (http://www.feedparser.org/). It is more or less impossible to treat RSS as XML, as everybody on earth seems to get it wrong in one way or another (escaping, encoding, media type, ...). Also, the RSS specifications are notoriously ambiguous and generally broken - this is the reason why people created the Atom standard, which is much more sane. Martin
