I was thinking more about intra-column indexing -- so if I have an XML column I could write an efficient WHERE clause on the value of a specific descendant element value. I don't believe SQL/XML defines a way to ddefine indexes using, say, an XPath expression. It's called SQL/XML, and it has been there since SQL-2003: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SQL/XML _______________________________________________ http://x-query.com/mailman/listinfo/talk<mailto:http://x-query.com/mailman/listinfo/talk> http://x-query.com/mailman/listinfo/talk ________________________________ _______________________________________________ http://x-query.com/mailman/listinfo/talk<mailto:http://x-query.com/mailman/listinfo/talk> http://x-query.com/mailman/listinfo/talk -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
