Oh, quite extensively. Two examples:

example 1: when analyzing the differences between two versions of an XML Schema: after a preliminary step of "normalizing" the schemas (expanding includes and replacing references by the referenced structure), I compare the two versions of each top level element, using deep-equal. 

example 2: when analyzing the differences of two log files, produced by two program versions processing the same input. (Proved a very effective approach for testing the new version.)
