And what do you think about such architecture for geospatial web 
services with GML data :

Cocoon server <=> eXist Database with Java extension implemented with 
JTS (Java Topology Suite)

Performance ?? no spatial indexes with this solution....

TigerLogic database does not seem to be opensource....
