Trying to Implement XQuery

Hello Sir/Mam....

      I am trying to implement Xquery as part of masters project ...
Is it feasible? if so where can I get good references focussed on it ...

if possible ...pls explain the procedure to do so right from the begining ..that is 
choosing a data model for storing xml ....to effective querying the database....
