Hi Roger, > DFDL [1] is a very cool standard for converting any data format I was interested in using DFDL to convert binary record formats containing "header" fields that identify the start position of data structures later in the record, typically by an "offset" number of bytes from the start of the record. Unfortunately, DFDL 1.0 does not support such formats. "Converting any data format" might be a goal of DFDL - is it? that is not clear to me: "any" is ambitious - but it cannot be done by the current release, DFDL 1.0. Still, DFDL looks promising: I hope to find a reason to use it soon, and I look forward to future releases. If you're interested in DFDL, you might also be interested in ServingXML.
