Neat! We can create an XML language that is the union of two XML languages, without any changes to them. In general this will not work with XSD 1.0, though it will work in all cases with RNG. It is always possible to create a language that is the intersection of two languages; what is not possible in the general case is to automatically create a schema that is the intersection of two schemas.
