Agreed.  And if you use Java XML data binding your devs can be almost 
oblivious to the fact that XML is present in the system apart from defining 
the schema (which can be done by the one XML guru on your team).

Naturally data binding isn't appropriate in all cases in the same way that 
XSLT isn't appropriate in all cases, but it can be a good fit where it is.
