Michael Sperberg-McQueen has written a number of schemas this way, see for example http://www.w3.org/2001/xml.xsd (be prepared to wait 30 seconds for the W3 server to respond, access is deliberately throttled). What you see is a client-side XSLT rendition of the schema; use view source to view the original. Its precision is appealing as it provides a near-mathematical way to specify things. However it suffers from being incomprehensible to most Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). > > In comes Literate XML Schema - write prose with XML Schema code sprinkled along the way. > > Has anyone tried Literate XML Schema?
