I want to make sure that the approach I take is: * Well suited for binding to programming languages using popular data binding tools such that the resulting bindings allow operating on the variable content based upon their common type (poetntially abstract) * Well suited for processing instance documents by XSLT such that adding new types to the variable content hierarchy does not require modifying the XSLT for processing the common elements and attributes of the variable content base type Those are the big requirements I can think of. Let me know if I should be thinking of any others. Thanks. <offtopic thankyou> I just switched to saxon from xalan for my project so I can support XSLT 2.0. The switch for pretty painless and I am very happy with my decision. I am also using "XSLT 2.0 Programmer's Reference" <http://www.amazon.com/XSLT-2-0-Programmers-Reference-Programmer/dp/0764569090>. I highly recommend it. Thanks Michael for the great tool and book. </offtopic thankyou> -- Regards, Farrukh Najmi Web: http://www.wellfleetsoftware.com
