RE: NY Times reference to 'secret coding'
No.

Put the source aside for a moment and look at the document. Substantial
comments are about references to behaviors and code bases within the
Microsoft product line. How anyone can implement these without having
knowledge of the code bases is beyond me.

So put all the wingnut conspiracies away for the moment and ask if the
drafts offered are ready to receive standards approval? The reviewer
majority consensus is no. That means those comments have to be resolved.
For those interested in standards for their own sake rather than the
competitive business interests which are significant but have resulted in
excesses from all sides, the task now is to get those comments resolved.

Otherwise one bit of advice to no one in particular and everyone in general:
the danger of using attack dogs is they tend to circle back when done with
the prey they were sent to attack. Anger is addictive, voracious, and when
habitual, indiscriminate. Caveat vendor.

Yes, by Feb 2008, we'll all have to, because of
"autoSpaceLikeWord95 - Emulate Word 95 Full-Width Character Spacing"
and other words that generate similar behavior and responses.

cheers.
