I did a search of the editor's comment i was refering to above an already
find it.

After discussion on MathML capabilities and poposal for HTML5-Math
(without MathML) the WHATWG editor said:

I next added:

And editor's replied:

> Hm, good point. This wasn't particularly intentional. Fixed.

And then the "strong" recommendation to use of MathML in (X)HTML5 was
eliminated from the current draft of the spec. Now people can choose and
use the markup they prefer to mathematical encoding and rendering :-)
