No, I don't think it's very realistic to design anything targeting ASV today, but of course you may wish to ask in SVG fora as other folks may have other ideas. What I would do would be to target a mobile profile of SVG, and insert some conditional magic to bring in SmilScript so that animation works in Firefox.
