Five
industry leaders will present keynotes at XML 2005 on topics such as semantic
web deployment, next-generation web services, present and future
infrastructure, data management, and how XML is changing our lives at work and
home. IDEAlliance, the producers of XML 2005, have also released a current list
of corporate sponsors and co-hosts for the event, November 14-18 in Atlanta,
Ga., USA.
Keynotes
kick off XML 2005 on Tuesday and Wednesday, and close the conference on
Thursday. Confirmed speakers and their topics include:

Hendler, University of Maryland professor, explaining what the semantic web is
all about and dispelling myths regarding its relationship with XML.
-- Steven
G. Harris, vice president of Oracle's Java Platform Group, showing how XML and
web services play a pivotal role in the modern application blueprint.
-- David
Campbell, Microsoft SQL Server general manager for data engine and access
technologies, exploring where the current XML infrastructure stands and where
it is heading.
-- Robert
Picciano, vice president of data management for IBM Corporation, presenting his
vision on XML's critical role in database management.
-- David
Megginson, principal of Megginson Technologies, discussing XML-based
technologies such as blog syndication and recomposable web sites and attempting
to answer the question, "Does XML matter"?
The
keynote presentations are the cornerstones of a program that includes nearly
two-dozen tutorials and 120 technical sessions. The current program schedule,

Seven
