Re: wc in XML document

Has anyone implemented a wc for an XML document please? We are looking at estimating based on instance processing, XML through to braille, and wc is one basis for such an estimation.
I wrote 'xmlwc' some time ago for the TclXML package. It's part of the distribution, in the examples directory. As such, it is a SAX(-like), streaming application.
xmlwc is based on the Unix 'wc' command, and allows you to count words, characters, bytes and/or lines.
