According to me Web Services are popular because we
are able to *publish them in a registry* and *discover
their address at run time*. I think this point is in
deep favour of web services. Where as other paradigms
like HTTP (or CGI) require us to to know where we want
to publish the site and fetch the contents.

(IMHO), I also think XML is a nice protocol to
negotiate protocol information between Requestor,
Publisher and Invoker of Web Server (i.e. this
triangle of peers).

Mukul
