At the very least, reality checks concerning suitability of the spec to the community *and* its implementability should be introduced at regular intervals. Some seem to think that it would introduce more process and thus delay Recs further. I agree that it would introduce more process but I think it has a chance to speed up Rec delivery, not to mention largely increase the quality of Recs.
