arbortext merger
Coming to this thread late, but this para really put me off:

Paul *was* talking business. It sounds a bit patronizing when you say,
in effect "we disagree, and we do so because I'm thinking like a
businessperson, and you are not". Many (probably most) of the
developers around here are also businessmen. They have had no choice
but to be businessmen (you learn quickly when feeding your families
depends on your facility in business). The fact of the matter is
simple: even businessmen disagree about business matters, and there is
no sudden, magic, shared consensus that descends on the graduating class
as they receive their MBA certificates. There are some intelligent
disagreements on the implications of the Arbortext merger in this
thread, and it does not look to me that the main fuel for the
disagreements is difference in attention to money matters.
