Firefox is build from Mozilla, which is something different. You are
talking about the Mozilla Suite which is also build from Mozilla but no

work by adding <?xml-stylesheet?> right after the XML

   Indeed it is working. I have a couple of questions:
1. why do I need to add a style sheet ? I just want to have 2 XML
documents and to establish a link between them. That is all.
2. what "magic" is done by your empty style sheet declaration ? I mean
you don't even define a type for your style-sheet - like "text/xsl";
And with an HTML file:
XLink was never designed to work in text/html documents. Furthermore,
namespaces are not a defined specification for text/html documents
either.
   I had a suspicion about that, but I just tried anyway just to see
if it is working.
Both fail under FF.
The first actually works, but as long as you do not add styling Firefox
just shows the source.
FF tries to be a 'mainstream' browser,
so, implementing features
that are not used by any site I know cannot be on their priority
list.

"FF supports simple links. Please provide a sample were this is
failing" but instead choose to say:
"Really? What is your testcase for that?"

explanations about it.

Yes, that could be a problem in any conversation.
Taking things out of context does not make your point any stronger. If
you have a point.
   My case is pretty strong. The only thing that remains is for you to
admit it.
