For better or worse, these two now seem hopelessly confused.

Every time I hear somebody say, "Design in UML and generate your (XML, 
database, object, ...) schemas from UML," the response is a blank look 
followed by a request for a tool to generate database schemas, classes, 
Web services, etc. from XML Schemas. The tool writers (me included) have 
been only too happy to comply.
