Dr. Michael Rys of Microsoft discusses SQL Server 2005 support for XQuery, SQL/XML and the SQL:2003 standard. Michael also comments about the evolution of XQuery. Streaming video, running time: 15:01 http://www.sqlsummit.com/People/MRys.htm Some object-relational DBMS products support plug-ins for adding new types, including different types of indexes (quadtree, r-tree, b-tree, etc.). One of the questions was about pluggable or selectable indexing techniques for XML documents. Michael indicated SQL Server 2005 (Yukon) will support selectable indexing using b-trees. ======== Ken North =========== www.WebServicesSummit.com www.SQLSummit.com www.GridSummit.com
