Michael,

This is why we have the EPR initiative - to empower the business users to be
able to manage their own business rules - see http://eprforum.org 

The business manager should be able to modify the business rules to conform to
the actual job - not what the programmer told the computer what they think the
job is / or has changed to become.  In EPR terms - you would create a new
template from the original - modify the rule(s) and assign it to that employee
in their job folder.

I'm also very pleased to see the latest issue of the ACM Communications picking
up on this theme - although I've not read actually what they are saying yet to
comment on it all.
