US domination? Let's fix this.  You can have Boston 
back and merge Hahvahd and MITittie into the 
British Institution for Traditional Engineering and  
Markup Excellence.  If you'll continue to sell us 
Samuel Addams, we'll teach you how to make a real 
martini. Shaken not stirred?  Yeachhh.

Perhaps the argument is moot.

I've become familiar with the American usage through spending too much time
at US-dominated W3C meetings (should they change the name?) but it still
throws me occasionally when I read it without an American accent.
