Well, from the www.allette.com.au site,

    Open Publish 2004

Details for Open Publish 2004 have been announced. The conference will be
held on July 28-30 2004 at the All Seasons Premier Menzies Hotel, Sydney.

Lots of XML; lots of PDF; lots of document publishing stories.
The Australian Open Publish conference, I believe, was formerly the XML/SGML
Asia-Pacific conference, formerly SGML Asia-Pacific, running since ?1993?.

There's also a US "Open Publish" conference series,
http://www.open-publish.com/, but there's no details yet about
a 2004 event; looks less XML-ly.

You've also just missed the OASIS Open Standards 2003 conference
which was in Sydney in October.

If you're going to include more academic conferences like
the WWW conference, there's also a lot of others for which
XML is very much on the agenda: VLDB, SIGMOD/PODS, SIGIR, ...
