Another, related case - http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/6/33108.html Not based on fees for charges for use of standards, but copyright and argument that use of said standard might be harmful to businesses that trusted the information: that is, incorporation of European Committee of Banking Services standards into a web calculator. Apparently Bank of Ireland should, in its view, be able to provide international banking codes, but not a private individual. Intriguing issues of network trust, accountability and so on. -----Original Message----- From: Dave Beckett [mailto:dave.beckett@b...] Sent: Tuesday, September 30, 2003 4:34 PM To: Rick Jelliffe Cc: XML Dev Subject: Re: ISO repents On Wed, 01 Oct 2003 01:05:57 +1000 Rick Jelliffe <ricko@a...> wrote: > > http://www.iso.org/iso/en/commcentre/pressreleases/2003/Ref871.html Maybe The press release says: ISO does not subsequently charge a fee for use of the codes in the software product and has no plans for doing so.
