Well, the recent WSDL 1.2 draft you mention actually specifically mentions RELAX NG: http://www.w3.org/TR/2003/WD-wsdl12-20030611/#other-schemalang "A RELAX NG schema may be used as the schema language for WSDL." It also mentions DTDs. Where is the problem?
