For my part, the interesting uses of RSS that I'm playing with rely on
the ability to add additional metadata to the stream. I suppose I
could do that with my own elements and avoid the RDF tax, but given
that RDF gives me more-or-less exactly what I want, I don't see any
reason to avoid it.
