I don't think the problem is politics - it's infrastructure. A lot of people are uncomfortable going to churches where the front steps are missing a few boards, where the doors are frequently locked as people arrive for services, where the pews fall through the floors periodically, and where the ceiling looks like it might fall down at any minute. Churches tend to avoid such problems by putting money or sweat into the building. The current benefactor has made it clear that such work is not a priority, and organizing a collection plate for people to help seems difficult in the current situation. That's a different set of problems than political faith. -- Simon St.Laurent Ring around the content, a pocket full of brackets Errors, errors, all fall down! http://simonstl.com -- http://monasticxml.org
