However, they were completely meaningless to me. I'm noticing a disturbing trend to publish only PowerPoint or equivalent slides from important presentations. This is the second batch I've seen come into my Inbox this morning. Slides of this nature are a useful tool to accompany an oral presentation. However, they leave out far too much to be useful or interesting to those of us who didn't attend. Steven Pemberton's talk in particular sounds like it may have been a very important session. I wish I had been there. However, there's almost nothing in his notes to tell us what he said and why he said it. OK, "xmlns:mumble bla bla bla ginger" was funny, but there must have been more to the talk than this? If a transcript, summary, audio or video recording, prepared paper, or other more appropriate format is not available, then there's really no point to mentioning the session here. -- +-----------------------+------------------------+-------------------+ | Elliotte Rusty Harold | elharo@m... | Writer/Programmer | +-----------------------+------------------------+-------------------+ | Processing XML with Java (Addison-Wesley, 2002) | | http://www.cafeconleche.org/books/xmljava | | http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ISBN%3D0201771861/cafeaulaitA | +----------------------------------+---------------------------------+ | Read Cafe au Lait for Java News: http://www.cafeaulait.org/ | | Read Cafe con Leche for XML News: http://www.cafeconleche.org/ | +----------------------------------+---------------------------------+
