Well, I was worrying about software breaking since we've now seen that at 
least one person wants to make software that processes based on those 
comments :-) That will introduce software that *would* be broken by losing 
the comments, but my intent with the "Presumably...?" sentence was to ask if 
anything was already using them; if it's a config file then I guess MS's own 
software both reads and write the file. Does the reader just preserve the 
existing comments so it write out a changed version of the config file with 
them still inplace, or does *is* use the information within?
