Hmm, that actually looks pretty cool to me!  I suddenly grok the 
possiblities when the basic XML datastructure operations (".." ".@" ) being 
built right into a programming language.  And I guess I can see better what 
Don Box was talking about at XML 2002 ... It might do for XML what 
Javascript's built-in HTML knowledge did for DHTML.  But is this a 
proprietary BEA thing?  "Under the aegis of ECMAScript" implied to me that 
it was coming in the ECMA standard...

I tend to agree, but will Joe Java and Suzy C# see it that way, or as yet 
another cauldron of XML voodoo? I guess we will soon see.

But anyway, I think I now get the picture much better now.  I'm not sure 
that these will increase programmer productivity as dramatically as 
Bosworth seems to be suggesting, but then again maybe they will wean 
developers away from the "XML is an object serialization format that I 
don't have to care about" notion that many of us find so counterproductive.
