Agreed. The resource-is-an-abstraction metaphysics is one of primary
causes of the recent flames sent by Roy on the WWW-TAG list. I'm sure
the REST folks are well aware of it, whether they is aware of the issues
this causes for applications that want to use URIs as unambiguous
identifiers is another issue.
