Hello Mike:

I think Norman Walsh addressed your first point already.  Design Goal #10 of
the XML recommendation states "Terseness in XML markup is of minimal
importance".  If XML is too verbose for your needs, you must consider
selecting or creating another markup language.  End of discussion, except
that you still need to remove the "XML" out of the ConciseXML name, which
was also noted in a previous message.  As for the second point, perhaps you
should take that up with Fabian Pascal, he seems to understand how one can
use XML to solve database problems quite well.
