They are currently calling it WordML -- it seems to be just a kind of "RTF-with-tags" and some MS-metadata. Tim wrote about it here some time back ... http://lists.xml.org/archives/xml-dev/200210/msg01357.html The surprise is that -- in addition to "WordML" -- you can have your *own* vocabulary, import it into Word (or Excel) via XSLT, then save the data back out into the original format! In other words, if you are dealing purely with the formatting level, save as WordML; if data, save as your ML. Either, or both. There were a few drawbacks, though. First, it doesn't have a clue about DTDs. You *have* to have a WXS schema for your vocabulary. So, if you data has a DTD, you've got to use some other utility to convert that to an XSD. Then you have to write an XSLT transform for the import (I didn't get to see a sample of the XSLT). With the exception of the WXS-exclusivity aspects, I was quite impressed. (Is Office 11 is the beta-test for PSVI-religion?) /Jelks
