They are currently calling it WordML -- it seems to be just a kind of
"RTF-with-tags" and some MS-metadata.  Tim wrote about it here some time
back ...

The surprise is that -- in addition to "WordML" -- you can have your
*own* vocabulary, import it into Word (or Excel) via XSLT, then save the
data back out into the original format!  In other words, if you are
dealing purely with the formatting level, save as WordML; if data, save
as your ML.  Either, or both.

There were a few drawbacks, though.  First, it doesn't have a clue about
DTDs.  You *have* to have a WXS schema for your vocabulary.  So, if you
data has a DTD, you've got to use some other utility to convert that to
an XSD.  Then you have to write an XSLT transform for the import (I
didn't get to see a sample of the XSLT).

With the exception of the WXS-exclusivity aspects, I was quite
impressed.
